We have released Bot Libre 5.0!

The worlds most advanced bot platform just got better. Bot Libre 5.0 is a free and open source platform for developing and hosting bots. Bot Libre 5.0 includes support for chat bots, virtual agents, virtual assistants, social media bots, live chat, animated avatars, and speech. Bot Libre supports bots for the web, mobile, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, Slack, email, SMS, IRC, and new platforms are being added every month.

The bot's "Mind" and "Thought" classes seek to emulate the human mind.

The conscious thoughts are executed serially on the input (such as a chat message), and process the input and normally send an output back to the Senses in response.

I would like to understand Bot's working model.While I debugged the code I found that for any input bot operates in two ways

1.Conscious thought processsing

2.SubConscious thought processing.

Conscious thought processing is performed by Consciousness and Language class in a separate thread.

Subconscious thought processing is performed by Comprehension,Discovery and Forgetfulness class in another thread.

The issue you where browsing your bot's "conversations" logs and click on the button to "correct" the bot's response. This enters a new response to the "question" that the bot was asked. In this case the "question" is "hockey", so you are entering a "response" to "hockey".

Your issue is you are trying to enter a "question and response", just enter the "response".

Actually if you look at the post it says, "Updated: Nov 11, 13:14", so was updated just this month.

We have a script library of many different examples here,

This page has not been updated in two years. 

Are there working source files we can see of the above examples? Esp. the csv example, it is not  clear. does the csv need column headers? How are the words separated in the cell itself?

You can add a command to any Question and Response from the "Training & Chat Logs" page in your bot's Admin Console, or by importing a response list file of commands from the "Training & Chat Logs" page. 

1 - Facebook Messenger normally works using a webhook that you need to register with Facebook through a Facebook app. To do this with the Bot Libre AI engine you would need a Java webserver (Tomcat), REST servlet or service, and an https website.

The AI engine is just the AI engine, it does not include a webserver.

I have hosted botlibre AI engine at my end.I want to check integration of my bot with Facebook and Twitter.For that I have started looking at the classes responsible for integration like org.botlibre.sense.facebook.FacebookMessaging,org.botlibre.sense.facebook.Facebook,org.botlibre.sense.twitter.Twitter etc.

I uploaded a sample AIML as script and then as a log file and definitely when I upload it as log file it is able to understand different variants of the same question by responding me the same answer.

Lack of knowledge of this feature I was trying to achieve the same thing using AIML as script and introducing pattern matching  wild card characters.

Better to use the Memory querying methods such as findAllQuery() or search() that take JPQL or Criteria (from JPA) than use SQL. Then you get proper queries for proper objects.

You will want to query objects with #instantiation relationships to #conversation or #sentence

I am using below query for getting converstations that have response

target_id-  id from vertex table for Primitive response

type_id - id from vertex table for Primitive conversation.

The Bot class has a log and debugLevel variables that control logging. You can set these on your Bot instance in code.

There are methods to import chat log, response list, and AIML on the TextEntry class. But there are no methods for exporting a conversation or responses. You could implement such as method in your own interface, either capturing the conversation, or querying to bot's memory for #conversation objects or #sentence objects that have a #response.

I am looking at the Botlibre's AI engine code and from the forum post and other stuff I understand that Botlibre can log all the chat request and responses and then we can upload the same chat log file with correct responses so that the AI engine reply with the updated data.

I want to know how can I enable logging so that all the chat requests are logged in some file with the format

user:bla bla bla

bot: bla bla

Bots can do more than just chat. They can book appointments, service calls, meetings, send emails, and SMS messages.

Bot Libre has support for connecting your bot to Google Calendar to access your schedule and book appointments. To connect your bot to Google Calendar go to your bot's "Google" page in its "Admin Console".

Bot Libre has several learning capabilities. Bots have a 'learning' setting that can be enabled for the bot to learn new responses from conversations or imported chat logs.

Bots also have a 'comprehension' setting that can be enabled for the bot to try to find patterns and rules while learning to build template and scripted responses. When comprehension is enabled the bot will program itself in Self using the last script in it set of scripts with new states and rules.

I have done a local setup of botlibre AI engine and been playing with the test cases that are shipped with the opensource code.

Further I have created a sample AIML file feed it to the engine and got expected answers to the questions.

My question is Botlibre has machine learning capabilities, can you flash some light on this.Also any example explaining the same would be helpful so that I can try it on my setup.

You can use a Tweet Search in your bot's Twitter properties to process and reply or retweet tweets.
The Tweet Search uses Twitter's search API which has many options such as from:user to filter tweets.

The updated included support for Google services such as Google Calendar, and scheduling support from scripting.

You can send an image or file attachment to either our live chat, or our bot chat.

In both their web interfaces there is a tool button and menu item in the bottom toolbar. Click the image button to send an image, and the file button to send a file.

When you embed a bot on a webpage using the "Box" embedding option it will put a chat box on the bottom corner of your page.

The embedding code that you can get from your bot's Embed button contains the HTML/JavaScript code you need to paste into your webpage to embed your bot.

In your bot's Twitter properties you can configure it to retweet or process/reply to tweets with specific keywords or hashtags.

Normally a bot will perform a Twitter search to find new tweets for it to process. You can configure your bot's Twitter search in its "Tweet Search" property.

Actually, another question. 

The excluding text written as >> "#brony-#clop"

So the bot reweets the hashtag and not the excluding hashtag #clop ?

Or is it another way? Can you give me a specific example so I can template it?

To exclude keywords in your Tweet Search use "-keyword"

i.e.

I want to retweet the hashtags #brony #mlp and #mlpseason6.

However when my bot retweet it, it also retweeted hashtags with it called #Clop (inappropriate material)

And much more inappropriate handbags. Is there a way to filter them so my bot won't retweet them?

Like a form of "excluding data" or "excluding keywords" I can use ?

We release Bot Libre 4.7 and 4.7.2 the last couple of weeks.

Bot Libre 4.7 includes several new features and many minor enhancements and fixes.

To have an AIML template have multiple lines you can use HTML.

For example,

Having a bot response wait for a human does not work, as users expect bot responses to be instant, and a human would take way too long to respond.

What you want to do is give a default reply like "I have sent this question to our technical staff, and they will respond to you shortly.".

The AIML spec does not give a standard for set files. We do not currently support importing the PandoraBots set file format, but are looking into adding support for this.

You can import data files from your bot's Knowledge page in its Admin Console.

I want to integrate facebook page messaging bot on a page. and im thinking is there any possiblity through SDK that whenever bot doesn't know any answer to the querry or message by user, we can redirect that query to a live person on page instead of typical "sorry i don not understand the question" reply from bot?
